Five questions to María José Benvenuto Gutierrez
María José Benvenuto Gutierrez (born 1990 in Santiago, Chile) lives and works in a nature reserve near Sydney, Australia. She studied Fine Arts at the Catholic University of Chile and explores her innermost feelings and thoughts through her work.
How did you get into art?
My journey into art began with a natural inclination towards creativity and a strong desire to express myself through visual arts. From an early age, I found joy in transforming my ideas, feelings, and emotions into tangible forms using whatever materials I could find. This creative drive motivated me to explore and experiment with various artistic techniques and mediums.
As my passion for art grew, I decided to further my skills and knowledge by pursuing formal education in visual arts. I enrolled at the Catholic University of Chile, where I was exposed to a whole new world of artistic possibilities. Through rigorous study and exposure to diverse art forms, art history, and contemporary practices, I gained a deeper appreciation for the art world and its immense capacity for communication and expression.
